The State Library of New South Wales has a rich history dating back to 1826. The library contains over
four and a half million items including monographs, pictures, maps,
newspapers, sound recordings, architectural plans, coins and postage stamps.
The buildings of the State Library of New South Wales have many notable architectural
features, including sets of bronze doors, stained glass and a marble replica of the
Tasman Map of 1644 - the original is held in the library.
